ShineMaker is a unique, contemporary mountain retreat in Wyoming, designed for a creative California-based couple and their two Irish Wolfhounds. It is a three-structure property, including a 6,000-square-foot main house, a 1,577-square-foot guest house, and a 580-square-foot writer’s studio, set on 35 acres of undulating grass and aspen, with panoramic views of the Wyoming Teton mountain range. The design and architecture of the property are inspired by the clients’ bohemian lifestyle, their love of music, literature, and the outdoors, as well as their charitable foundation, ShineMaker. The home took five years to complete and was designed by CLB Architects and HSH Interiors.
The property’s dark sugi ban wood and metal exterior contrasts with the contemporary bleached cypress, bronze, steel, stone, and concrete interiors. The interiors of the property are inspired by the clients’ directive to make the home creative, unique, and unpredictable, as well as beautiful and comfortable. Layers of texture and color, a mix of contemporary and vintage elements, and contemporary art and vintage collectibles create a one-of-a-kind mountain home that is welcoming to the clients’ friends, family, and pets.
