Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
I studied at Deakin University in Australia and after a few years beginning my Architectural Journey I moved to London to develop my career and experience Europe. Intended on only being a short stay I ended up in London for over 10 years, having the opportunity to design and build many typologies of buildings including education, healthcare, commercial and most recently sports and entertainment.
I now find myself in Southeast Asia, continuing my career in sports, entertainment, convention, exhibition and aviation projects across APAC.
How would you describe your personal design style?
I think my design style is highly driven by simplicity and by functional data driven input. I believe that things do not need to be overly intricate to be beautiful. Having said that, each project and design challenge should be assessed on its individual merits and the outcomes should not be limited to a a style. The Londoner project was one where our interiors team appropriately followed a detailed and refined style, and the outcomes are tremendous.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
I believe that inspiration for design should be highly engrained in the context of place. It can come from many things but should always be relatable even if converse to its context.
