Sunseeker International has been shortlisted for Motor Yacht Under 25 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

Launched in 2021, the award-winning 65 Sport Yacht from Sunseeker International is a class-defining model that was designed to deliver an entirely new helm experience. The design brief was born out of the desire to give those at the helm the ultimate experience of pure adrenaline, akin to driving a high-performance convertible supercar. Inspired by the latest designs in automotive, the 65 Sport Yacht re-defines excitement in leisure boating.

In order to give this feel of an open top, high-performance supercar, the in-house design team needed to invent something entirely new in the market and focused their efforts on the development of the all new SkyHelm™. The team was tasked with designing a unique exterior and style in keeping with the Sunseeker Sport Yacht heritage, but which would stand out on the water, and with interior design style cues to match. This would also give the latest 65-foot model joining the Sport Yacht range a modern and refreshed look.

The Sport Yacht, while delivering a sleek and sporty exterior, also needed to accommodate up to six guests in luxurious comfort and create the perfect areas for those on board to entertain both indoors and close to the water. The design team was able to get creative with the Sport Yacht’s modular layout and aft deck, designing a dedicated ‘Beach Club’ with direct access to the sea, wet bar, fridge, BBQ and free-standing seating. The ultimate design challenge was to combine speed, luxury and innovation, which the team successfully delivered on.

The Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht SkyHelm™ delivers a one-of-a-kind driving experience. This driving position is all about manoeuvrability, the carbon fibre, multifunctional steering arm tilts forward for ease of docking in a busy marina and eases ingress for the ultimate seated driving position. This design sets off a very modern fully-carbon steering arm that the driver can raise to ease ingress into this racing-cockpit design or locked in a raised position for helming while standing.

Quite often, all boats look the same from the pontoon, but the 65 Sport Yacht has a unique exterior unlike anything else in the marina, including sculptured composite teak steps and stainless-steel detailing. The 65 Sport Yacht also benefits from increased interior detailing and new upholstery materials and patterns to create a fresh, contemporary look.
