Bomhoff Limited has been shortlisted for the Furniture Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2023.

Bomhoff Limited is excited to present the New Moderne Executive Desk, a prototype monument made specifically for VVIP aircraft interiors. Bomhoff’s innovative design combines advanced materials and engineering to create a desk that is not only lightweight but also sturdy and functional.

Constructed of honeycomb panels and composite structural elements, the desk features polished aluminium trim as well as customized aluminium push button latches. The desk contains built-in LED lighting spanning the circumference of the desktop, as well as toe kick and drawer lighting. This feature allows the desk to provide subtle adjustable lighting in a dimly lit cabin. Seven large leather-lined drawers provide more than ample storage for all manner of things and can be customized to serve specific purposes such as a concealed monitor, mini-bar, printer, a safe, or extra room for small carry-ons.

For many owners, the aircraft will serve primarily as a business machine. Given this fact, the desk was designed to be its own objective within the cabin, serving as a unique destination and source of inspiration for those using it. Inspired by Art Deco but with distinctly modern elements that allow it to straddle the line between durable elegance and cutting- edge versatility.

The team carefully considered every aspect of this design to ensure that it meets all necessary aviation regulatory standards, including structural and flame resistance. Bomhoff Limited want this desk to serve as an example to designers that they are free to think “outside the box” even when it comes to pieces that lend themselves to more traditional forms. Using standard aircraft materials, it is possible to create a flagship monument that is both visually stunning and fully functional. This desk does not just complement the interior, it is intended to be a focal point that anchors the rest of the cabin’s design.
