Bergman Design House
Bergman Design House has been shortlisted for the Master Cabin Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2023.
Bergman Design House has completed a record-breaking superyacht refit project called Galaxy. The project took just five months to complete, rather than the typical 18 months. The exterior of the yacht has been refurbished with a hull repaint, new artistic lines, blacked-out windows, a new branded nameplate, full RGBW lighting strips, and underwater lighting. The interior has been designed with cosmic inspiration to create a spaceship-like atmosphere that doubles as a comfortable home. The yacht now features a private nightclub, a multi-sensory saloon, a meditation and wellness space, a cinema room, a private music studio, a touch-and-go helipad, and a private party deck. It is the first superyacht in the world to have a private members’ club that turns into a multi-sensory space and cinema lounge.
The owners desired a floating entertainment spaceship with cosmic-inspired accents, personal touches, and eye-catching details. The goal was to create a multifunctional platform for entertainment, celebration, and permanent residence. Bergman Design House created a fully sustainable interior design for all the main guest areas and cabins, as well as the deck spaces, while also restyling the exterior with a fresh and youthful new look and feel.
The owner’s suite takes the cosmic theme one step further, its a galaxy in its own right, from the painted ceiling and star gazing when they lay on the bespoke shaped bed, then behind them is the personalised star signs etched into the headboard made of brass with led lighting designed as an actual constellation with the owners and friends Zodiac signs lit up with tiny led lights that sparkle like the stars. The refit extended to all areas of master suite, with notable upgrades and unique design upgrades including the addition of a snug with a daybed and pop up screen to enjoy movies like a private apartment in the bow. Window beds were also created so they can relax and watch whilst underway and cruising to the next destination.
All materials used are from natural elements such as rock crystal and fully sustainable fabrics. The wood used in the flooring was specially selected to mimic the sensation of waves beneath the feet and enhance the senses. The furniture is completely organic, designed by Njord and produced by BlackBerg Collection.
The project faced several challenges, including restrictions due to the pandemic and Brexit, as well as the practicality and functionality of storage and materials that had to withstand all the elements used throughout the yacht. The refit was completed on time, with the highest quality craftsmanship and finishes ever seen on a yacht, exceeding the owners’ wildest dreams. Galaxy is a luxurious and unique superyacht that transforms anyone who steps on board to another universe.
