KYRON Design is excited to introduce the conceptual design of motor yacht NZURI, a 70 Meter Expedition Yacht with Dual ABB Azipods that is designed around nature. With that in mind, her audience is drawn to look out into the wide views presented all around. NZURI is a true expedition yacht, in the sense that it allows to incorporate the surrounding environment completely.

This marks the first design released by the new startup design studio with networks in both New York and The Bahamas. The expedition/explorer yacht concept stretches at just over 70 meters in length and has been engineered and designed for the ideal explorer yacht owner’s experience. The soft yet strong lines embody the nature of the Swahili woman, and takes on the meaning of Nzuri which means “beautiful, great and fine.” The designers’ favourite aspect to NZURI’s concept is her simple yet sleek and modern design, which exudes elegance and grace.

The main idea behind NZURI’s interiors is the natural flow of different spaces at different points of time. This notion has been interpreted with a colour gradation that begins with the lighter shades of grey on the upper decks, transforming into a darker grey and bluish hue as it gets closer to the water on the lower decks. The expanded and adaptive main deck houses two Audi Quattro AI vehicles, a bar and lots of room to entertain guests. The beach club makes one feel connected with the ocean and all its mesmerizing affects, located just aft of the tender garage for direct access to both spaces creating a different kind of onboard experience and interaction. The yacht is also filled with timeless amenities, toys and a large pool that doubles as a touch and go heli-pad.

KYRON Design created NZURI to function as a steel hull with a partial fiberglass superstructure due to the nature of the areas of operation. The designers found it ideal to have a yacht that could operate in the polar regions or on an adventure in the Galapagos Islands. The design includes 10 cabins sleeping 20 guests, and 8 cabins sleeping 28 crew plus the captain. She boasts a max speed of 22 knots. Its range, 4000 nautical miles. The overall design is futuristic, housing the latest window technology by Kinestral. It’s Helio technology displays itself as “the only electrochromic glass fast enough to respond to sky conditions in real-time.” There are drones onboard for use when travelling to the most remote or protected areas and a fully equipped exploration equipment room.

NZURI represents someone who wants to be free. It combines the desire to create an expression of futurism with the realities of what the owner would find user friendly on this style yacht. The design is built based on character without ever compromising the main tenets of its future use which are form, elegance and functionality.
