Venture Yachts, Laurent Giles & Omega Architects have been shortlisted for Master Cabin Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

M/Y ABYDOS is a 144ft full-custom carbon composite motor yacht reaching 24kts max speed with high-performance long-distance cruising and soft-riding characteristics. The yacht has a modern and unique interior and exterior design that is easily distinguishable but blends the basics and modernity at certain limits that will make her timeless. Abydos is designed and built to meet the expectation of an owner willing to create a yacht for his family and children without sacrificing his desire for speed. And his will is fulfilled in all terms.

Venture Yachts’ flagship project is the result of exterior & interior design work by Omega Architects B.V. and naval architecture by Laurent Giles Naval Architects Ltd. Designed and built for high-performance long-distance cruising, ABYDOS has a range of 3,600 nm at 11kts and can reach a top speed of 24 knots thanks to her efficient hybrid hull form, incorporating U/V sections forward for soft ride capabilities with a chine form developing aft of midships to give excellent semi-displacement characteristics.

Inside, the yacht accommodates eleven guests in five staterooms that are located on the hull deck. A full-beam master cabin is located amidships. The master bathroom and walk-in closet separate the accommodation from the engine room. The crew entrance is totally isolated from this guest area, providing total privacy for guests and a relaxed workflow for the crew.

The success of the design stems from the very experienced owner with a clear design brief, defining his dream family-boat, that has been embodied by design and engineering experts. Luxury interior & exterior with the elegant touch of Alchymia decorative panels and Ludovica furniture are in harmony and provide the “landscape and nature at sea” feeling that was aimed by the owner. Overall, M/Y ABYDOS is designed and built according to her experienced owner’s wish list for exterior and interior layouts along with a unique naval architecture package providing high performance cruising as well as soft riding characteristics when desired.

Venture Yachts specialises in custom motoryachts, especially in composite. Laurent Giles is celebrating their 90th anniversary, specialising in superyacht naval architecture. Omega Architects has been designing yachts for over 25 years. Although Omega’s work is always recognisable, it does not reveal one specific style, but each individually tailored. Additional specialists on this particular project are Alchymica Srl providing the decorative wall panels on the saloon, foyer, galley and master cabin and Ludovica Mascheroni providing loose furniture.
