Shortlisted: Restaurant within a Hotel Global Award

The International Hotel & Property Awards 2026

Designed by Jeffrey Beers International, the Garden Room at Pier Sixty-Six Members Club is conceived as a private, highly curated hospitality offering that embodies a distinctly maximalist design language. Positioned as the ultimate destination to see and be seen in Fort Lauderdale, the space merges theatricality with refined craftsmanship to create an immersive, sensorial environment.

Guests are welcomed through a dramatic reception sequence where motifs of flora, fauna, and birds establish an immediate sense of fantasy and escapism. This narrative is further elevated by a bespoke porcelain lighting sculpture by Andreea Braescu, composed of glazed floral and foliate elements in white, red, and 22-carat gold, which sets a tone of opulent drama. Beneath it, a handcrafted mosaic floor by SICIS of Ravenna introduces artisanal depth and texture, reinforcing the project’s commitment to material richness. A brass and velvet swing, detailed with ostrich feathers, adds a playful yet sophisticated gesture, while garden-inspired wall treatments dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior.

Within the main dining room, the design evolves into a layered and immersive composition. Plush seating is upholstered in a carefully curated mix of textiles, complemented by Beaux-Arts-inspired brass detailing across ceilings and columns. Ostrich-feather chandeliers appear to float among abundant greenery, including a sculptural banana tree, enhancing the dialogue between nature and artifice.

At the centre of the space, a curvilinear bar wrapped in a Christian Lacroix patterned mosaic becomes a luminous focal point, anchored by a dramatic bottle display and accented with whimsical flamingo-inspired lighting. Art is integral to the narrative, highlighted by a custom mosaic inspired by a Gustav Klimt painting, introducing cultural resonance and visual richness.

For more intimate gatherings, a private dining conservatory offers a jewel-box setting inspired by topiary gardens, complete with layered botanical detailing and a glowing firefly chandelier.

Throughout, the Garden Room blurs the boundaries between theatre, art, and dining, resulting in a luxurious and immersive environment defined by storytelling, craftsmanship, and sensory depth.
