JPA Design has partnered with Cathay Pacific to create the groundbreaking Aria Business Class suite for the airline’s Boeing B777-300ER fleet. Designed to elevate the already exceptional passenger experience offered by Cathay Pacific, the Aria suite blends cutting-edge technology with human-centric design, delivering an unparalleled sense of comfort, privacy, and connectivity.

The project represents over five years of meticulous development, driven by Cathay Pacific’s ambition to push the boundaries of luxury travel. With an obsessive focus on detail, JPA Design worked closely with the airline to develop a product that harmonises intuitive functionality and refined aesthetics. The result is a transformative cabin experience that redefines Business Class.

One of Aria’s standout innovations is its fully integrated suite control system, a first in aviation. Passengers can control every aspect of their environment—lighting, seat positioning, inflight entertainment (IFE), and communication with the cabin crew—through the connected IFE screens. This integration also includes a real-time cabin map, allowing passengers to locate and check the availability of nearby lavatories with ease, removing the common stress of navigating cabin spaces.

The Aria suite’s design features a bespoke curved back-shell, a signature element that not only adds a tactile appeal but also enhances privacy and contributes to the serene, cocoon-like atmosphere of the cabin. Passengers are greeted by a warm and inviting space reminiscent of a luxury hotel, complete with customisable lighting and seating arrangements for a personalised travel experience.

The cabin’s holistic design extends beyond the suite itself. A gallery area near the main boarding door introduces passengers to the Aria experience with calming mood lighting and bespoke artwork unique to each aircraft. The use of recycled materials and advanced coatings in the cabin design further underscores Cathay Pacific’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Launched just two months ago, the Aria suite has received widespread acclaim from critics and passengers alike. With its seamless blend of luxury, technology, and thoughtful design, Aria represents a new benchmark in Business Class travel, cementing JPA Design and Cathay Pacific’s positions as leaders in the aviation industry.
