Shortlisted: Kitchen Design over £50,000 Award

The International Design & Architecture Awards 2024

Katie Brown Kitchens, the creative force behind this project, undertook the renovation with a dual focus on functionality and aesthetics, tailored to the client’s requirements. With a keen eye on creating a space conducive to entertaining, their goal was to impress while also ensuring practicality, a vital aspect for a busy doctor managing work and family commitments. Embracing the client’s preference for boldness, they embraced the room’s generous proportions and abundant natural light to execute daring design decisions.

Recognising the importance of practicality, Katie Brown Kitchens carefully designed the space to accommodate the client’s busy lifestyle. Open shelving was incorporated to infuse the kitchen with the client’s personality through personal touches, while the fusion of Walnut accents with bold green hues added warmth and character to the space.

A standout feature of the kitchen design is the Dekton shelf behind the tap, providing a functional yet stylish area for tea and coffee essentials. Additionally, the circular piece of American Walnut on the island creates a cosy spot for morning coffee or children’s breakfast, enhancing the kitchen’s versatility and convenience.

Katie Brown Kitchens ensured that no detail was overlooked, meticulously crafting convenient zones for meal preparation, cooking, washing, and entertaining. The spacious island serves as the focal point, seamlessly integrating with the kitchen area and providing ample room for various activities.

Furthermore, the design maintains continuity with the rest of the house, where shades of green prevail, creating a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic throughout. By skilfully balancing bold design choices with practical considerations, Katie Brown Kitchens has transformed the kitchen into a functional yet visually stunning space that perfectly complements the client’s lifestyle and personality.
