Hyatt Place Ha Long Bay Hotel

Kaze Interior Design led the interior concept for Hyatt Place Ha Long Bay – Bai Chay with a philosophy rooted in contextual relevance, simplicity, and sustainability. The 161-room hotel, located in the heart of Ha Long Bay, was envisioned as a contemporary, lifestyle-focused destination for both business and leisure travellers, without losing sight of its natural and cultural surroundings.

Drawing inspiration from the region’s biodiversity, Kaze developed a design narrative in which each area of the hotel reflects a different natural system. The limestone formations of the bay informed the lobby, aquatic life inspired the restaurant, tropical forests shaped the meeting rooms and wellness areas, while the aerial ecosystem influenced the guestroom concept. This thoughtful layering allows the design to unfold like a journey through the bay’s ecological richness.

Material selection was guided by climate, function, and environmental responsibility. In collaboration with Hyatt’s global sustainability team, Kaze prioritised locally sourced materials, energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fittings, and durable finishes. The result is a design that adapts to the humid coastal climate while meeting long-term operational needs.

Kaze worked closely with consultants across architecture, MEP, lighting, kitchen, acoustics, and landscape to ensure a cohesive execution. Local artisans contributed woven textures, carved elements, and stone finishes, adding cultural depth and a human touch.
