Kimberly Parker Design approached the project with a focus on creating a natural dialogue between the architecture and its rugged western surroundings. Reclaimed timber and traditional chinking anchor the structure within the landscape, while interior elements such as ceiling beams sourced from the historic Lucin Cutoff Railroad Trestle introduce a sense of permanence and narrative depth. These robust materials are softened by layered textiles and Moroccan rugs, adding warmth and tactility throughout.
The interior by Kimberly Parker Design engages multiple senses, combining visual storytelling with tactile and atmospheric detail. A stairwell tapestry by Utah artist Tyler Huntzinger and a curated art collection gathered from international travel create a rich visual identity, while custom elements such as a Costa Rican live edge dining table and bespoke millwork reinforce the home’s individuality. Sound and atmosphere are also considered, with a custom record player console integrated into the wider audio system.
