This is a project where design supports pleasure. It creates a relaxed environment that enhances the dining experience, connecting guests to both the place and its heritage.
MERCÈ BORRELL Interior Designer created a powerful spatial narrative for this project, inspired by the concept of the “Casa Fuerte”, a traditional fortress offering islanders protection in times of danger. This idea forms the basis for the design’s spatial division into three zones: observation, refuge and enjoyment.
The observation zone begins at the entrance, where a striking architectural element quickly identifies the space as a place of safety. This leads to the refuge zone, located on the ground floor. Here, a series of multipurpose spaces are carefully designed to evoke the island’s volcanic past. Materials and colours inspired by lava create a grounded, earthy atmosphere that connects the user to the natural origins of the landscape.
