Tell us a little about your background in the sector (education, experience, etc)
I have been sketching and designing since I was a child. From shoes to cars and yachts. That passion directed me to the design schools.
I studied Industrial Design at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wroclaw, after 3 years of this education I won my first international contest “Sketch Fighter 2014” and I won a scholarship sponsored by VW group to study car design at SPD Milano.
I graduated with a Master’s degree of Car Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan.
During my stay in Italy we were working on concept projects with Lamborghini, Audi and Ducati. After the studies I was involved in various projects, like yachts, furniture, cars for the Chinese market.
Now I work on various automotive projects with brands from around the world.
I have created cars for films, advertisements, yachts and products. I love yacht design and opportunities in that field. Here automotive design is connected with interior architecture, furniture and product design, this is a fascinating world that I am happy to contribute to.

How would you describe your design ethos?
There is always a purpose to make a product. It must be useful and resolve some kind of problem. I try to be a good listener, first listening to the needs of customers and then offering solutions that meet their requirements. Together with the clients we always try to meet all the requirements in terms of ergonomics, sustainability and beautiful shapes of the products that we are working on. I try to hide my ego as much as possible to do magnificent work in a team.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
I am inspired by nature, vivid colors and natural materials like wood and stone. I love the connections between materials and surfaces with different textures. I look at fashion, architecture and product designs to create new unique objects like yachts.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in the future.

Sustainability, Human interaction, Acoustics, Ergonomy, Economy.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?

Be bold and creative, follow your instinct and create your vision with passion.

How important are The International Yacht & Aviation Awards?
First of all I would like to thank Laurine from Design et al who invited me to participate in this competition. Personally I think it could be a great opportunity to present my portfolio to the yachting public. I was involved in automotive projects and became a yacht designer thanks to a few people who wanted me to create unique yachts. I started with small concepts in a Polish shipyard and then I designed the “Ballerina Yacht” as my own concept. This opened the door to bigger projects that are currently being realized. I would like to contribute to the development of the yachting world and I hope that these awards could be the next step in my career.

What projects are you currently working on?
I am working on a 60 feet bespoke yacht. This project is at the creative stage, so I am able to create concepts of exterior and interior. I am very happy to do this work and I can’t wait to see this yacht on the water.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?
Creating concepts is the most exciting part of the design process. I love to do research and think about how things could play out.
Last year I designed 35 feet long beautiful yacht inspired by romantic shapes, smooth lines and classy color combinations. I was responsible for all the interior and exterior styling. This was my first very serious yacht project and I think it will be amazing when it is produced. Together with the clients we were working on layouts, materials, shapes and all the ergonomic aspects of the project. Whole concept of this yacht is recognizable and has a unique character. After that I had to do something bigger. I did a lot of research on big yachts and decided to do an 80 meter yacht that showcases all of my skills and knowledge at this point. I wanted to create space for work, travel and relax. That was the main idea for “Magnate Yacht 80”. I spent days and nights working on interior layouts, creating furniture and all of the elements on the decks. I learned to make cool animations to showcase the design. That was a time full of passion. I am happy and Ireally appreciate that this project is shortlisted in this Awards. When people give me positive feedback watching my project I am more confident moving forward.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
I was always focused on concepts and styling, of course I do 3D modeling, renderings and even animations. The most challenging is CAD modeling, because it requires time and technical experience. When it is not necessary I am happy to do other parts of the project.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
I would like to create beautiful objects with teams of creative people. That’s why I am visiting fairs and design days to be present and visible. My goal is to help people create cool projects that make a smile on their faces.

Your most treasured possession?
My guitar and drum set. I play on these instruments and this is my hobby, nothing serious but gives me relaxation and chill time.

Your favourite holiday destination?
I love exploring the world. Italy is a great place, always nice to visit, but there are a lot of beautiful countries. Last year I went to Sri Lanka, that was an amazing trip, something different from a European holiday. I would love to explore more of the Asian continent to learn more about the culture and lifestyle.

Your favourite hotel, restaurant & bar?
I think the best way of traveling is to live where local people live, at the apartments. Hotels are cool, but when you are saturated with elevators and hotel lobby you have fresh breath in the old villa outside the main city.

Your favourite book, film & song?
Book:I fell in love with Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs. I was intrigued by his visions and all of his struggles on the way to the top. That was very inspiring, and maybe thanks to this I am working as a self employed / businessman, who thinks that can change the world.
My mostly appreciated singer is Bruce Springsteen, all of his rock&roll rhythms and ballads resonate with my soul that’s why I love to be surrounded by his music. It keeps me focused while working, and enhances my creativity.
When it comes to films: “The Pursuit of Happyness” with Will Smith.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
I like to play drums or guitar.

If you weren’t in this sector, what would you alternative profession be?
Photographer. I have been taking pictures since my childhood. I like to operate with the camera and take shots. I know all the technical aspects of the lenses, and cameras. I am always focused on people’s interactions, emotions and mood. I like street photography as well as beautiful portrait photos with beautiful light and shadows.
