Oberson Architects’ Resort Villa is a dual-structured family home designed to capture the atmosphere of a luxury resort within everyday living. The project unites two adjoining plots into a single multigenerational retreat, balancing openness with privacy. Rather than dividing the land, the architects connected the properties through a central courtyard, with an outdoor pool and terraces forming the focal point. The design merges resort-style relaxation with the functionality of family life, using long sightlines and framed views to create visual openness while maintaining personal privacy.

The International Design & Architecture Awards 2026
Materiality plays a defining role, with exposed concrete, Corten steel, sandy limestone, travertine, and custom metal elements combining structural strength with tactile warmth. The interiors are refined and grounded, enhanced by Italian finishes and bespoke furniture. The main wing accommodates shared family spaces and a luxurious master suite, while the secondary structure offers independence for grown children and guests, including a spa, lounge, and gym.
The landscaping plan integrates vegetation, stone, and water to create a lush and immersive environment. Even lower-level areas receive natural light and garden views, ensuring every space connects to nature. Pergolas and glass walls maintain unobstructed transitions between indoors and outdoors, reinforcing the home’s seamless connection to its surroundings.
Craftsmanship was central to the project, with artisans contributing to custom Corten louvers, travertine sliding doors, hand-finished limewash walls, and tailored metal and wood detailing. The result reflects Oberson Architects’ philosophy of fusing architecture and daily life, achieving both refuge and connection through thoughtful spatial design.
