Oft Interiors Ltd. reframed spatial experience through the concept of the “Life Backstage”, moving away from overtly polished environments towards spaces that felt authentic, lived in and emotionally grounded. The project revealed a lifestyle in both its operational and curated states, allowing occupants to engage with space as something real rather than staged.

The interior was structured as an immersive journey with a clear narrative arc, reflecting the daily rhythm of elite families transitioning from social engagement to private retreat. This progression was established immediately at the deep burgundy entrance, which acted as a powerful visual and psychological threshold. It marked a deliberate shift from the energy of the public urban realm into a contained, experiential world, creating a sense of arrival and discovery.

Internally, the layout unfolded as a series of enclosed living room settings that prioritised comfort, intimacy and ease. These spaces maintained fluid visual connections, preserving a sense of openness, while carefully controlled acoustics allowed for privacy and calm. The atmosphere encouraged unhurried interaction and relaxed occupation, reinforcing the feeling of a residential environment rather than a formal or performative one.

This core design philosophy permeated every detail, resulting in spaces that felt genuinely inhabited and emotionally resonant. The experience operated on both narrative and psychological levels, using spatial sequencing to guide behaviour and mood. Achieving this required specialist collaboration, particularly in lighting design to support the immersive journey, acoustic engineering to balance openness with discretion, and material expertise to realise the dramatic treatment of the entrance threshold.

The project stood as a reflection of evolving expectations around interior environments, where authenticity, connection and human experience were central to meaningful design.
