Olga Ashby Interiors developed the project around a brief to deliver a calm and cohesive home that balances architectural clarity with tactile richness for modern family life. Timber, stone and plaster are layered within a soft neutral palette, enhancing natural light and encouraging a seamless flow throughout the residence. Bespoke joinery plays a central role, providing sculptural focal points while integrating practical storage into key spaces including the living room, kitchen and study.
Open plan living areas encourage family interaction while remaining carefully zoned through furniture placement, ceiling treatments and lighting. Expansive glazing strengthens the relationship between the home and the surrounding greenery, reinforcing a sense of tranquillity. Throughout the private spaces, Olga Ashby Interiors maintains the same understated design language, creating serene bedrooms and bathrooms defined by comfort, simplicity and material continuity.
The project succeeds by pairing visual restraint with everyday functionality. Durable natural materials age gracefully, while integrated joinery keeps clutter hidden and preserves the minimalist aesthetic. Low profile furnishings maintain open, welcoming interiors, and layered lighting creates warmth and atmosphere from morning through to evening.
Olga Ashby Interiors also ensured the residence responds sensitively to its Hampstead setting. Rather than competing with the area’s historic architecture, the home adopts a quiet contemporary language that complements its surroundings. Soft earthy tones, generous glazing and carefully considered proportions allow the residence to sit comfortably within the neighbourhood while reflecting the calm, understated elegance that defines Hampstead. The result is a timeless family home that balances emotional comfort with practical living through carefully considered contemporary design.
