Tell us a little about your background in design:
I’ve always had an avid eye for details and a profound passion for design, art, and architecture. I began my journey in Brazil, studying Design/Advertising & Marketing and later earning a degree in Architecture and Urbanism. Over the years, I managed a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects, from site surveys to complete interior designs. In 2008, I moved to Houston, USA, where I expanded my expertise by studying Interior Design. My career later took me to Edinburgh, Scotland, where I continued to work on local and international projects.
In 2019, I co-founded Rossi & More Interior Architecture and Design, an England based studio specialised in high-end residential projects. My team and I delivered exceptional work for five years, overseeing projects from conception to completion. During this period, I also received a degree in Construction. My latest venture is Casa More Interiors, an interior design studio dedicated to crafting detailed, modern, and elegant designs for both residential and commercial properties in the UK and abroad.

How would you describe your personal design style?
I have a fondness for transitional style, where traditional charm meets modern flair, and I love working with rustic materials and diverse textures. Above all, my clients’ tastes are my top priority. I’m dedicated to guiding them in seamlessly integrating their preferences into a cohesive design, ensuring their spaces are not only beautiful but also uniquely reflective of who they are.

Where does your design inspiration come from? :
My design inspiration is deeply rooted in my life experiences, shaped by my Brazilian heritage, passion for art, design and extensive travels across nearly 50 countries.
Born and raised in Brazil—a country known for its architectural diversity, rich culture, and deep connection to nature— I learned to appreciate the unique characteristics of different regions. I have learned to consider local materials, craftsmanship, and cultural influences, ensuring they are reflected in my designs. Whether it’s the organic curves inspired by Oscar Niemeyer’s modernist structures or the vibrant colonial facades found in historic towns, my Brazilian background has given me a strong foundation in bold creativity and functional aesthetics.
Travelling has further broadened my perspective, exposing me to different cultures’ architectural heritage, craftsmanship, and interior styles.
Every country I visit offers something new. One of my favorite things to do while traveling is to explore non-touristy places, get lost in the streets, and especially search for unique designs or details in residential and commercial spaces such as cafes, shops, and restaurants.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Design is increasingly shifting towards a more sustainable and conscious approach, where aesthetics and functionality align with environmental responsibility. Sustainable materials have evolved from a trend into a necessity, with designers prioritising options such as reclaimed wood, recycled metals, and eco-friendly paints. Incorporating local materials is also gaining momentum, as it reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation and celebrates regional craftsmanship and heritage. This shift fosters a deeper connection between design and its location, ensuring that interiors are not only beautiful but also environmentally and culturally meaningful.

Another significant trend is the emphasis on durability and the thoughtful reuse of existing furniture. Rather than chasing rapidly changing trends, there is a growing appreciation for timeless, high-quality pieces that stand the test of time. Restoring or repurposing furniture adds character to a space, reduces waste, and offers sustainable alternatives to mass-produced items. This approach encourages a blend of old and new, where classic craftsmanship meets modern innovation, resulting in interiors that are rich in depth, authenticity, and sustainability.
Technology is also playing a crucial role in the future of design, with smart home features and energy-efficient solutions becoming essential components. Innovations such as automated lighting, climate control, and adaptive furniture make spaces more intuitive and efficient. Customisation remains key, ensuring that areas are functional, sustainable, and personal, reflecting the client’s personality and lifestyle. The future of design is about striking a perfect balance—embracing sustainability, durability, and technology while creating environments that truly feel like home.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in the future.
1. Sustainability & Eco-Friendly Materials
2. Local Sourcing & Cultural Connection
3. Durability & Timelessness
4. Technology & Efficiency
4. Personalization & Client-Centered Design

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?
If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to always listen to the client and maintain clear, open communication throughout the entire process. Active listening is essential for the success of any project because it allows us to truly understand the client’s needs, preferences, and goals. Taking the time to have meaningful conversations and asking the right questions helps us dig deeper into their vision and identify what truly matters to them. Building a strong relationship through communication not only helps clarify any uncertainties but also earns the client’s trust, making them feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns openly.

While it’s important to apply our expertise to guide clients toward the best solutions, we also need to be honest about potential limitations or challenges that may arise. Sometimes, certain objectives may not be achievable due to budget, technical constraints, or other factors. In those cases, transparency is key—clearly explaining the situation and offering thoughtful alternatives demonstrates our commitment to finding the best possible outcome.

What projects are you currently working on?
Alongside my residential projects here in the UK, I’m thrilled to be expanding my portfolio internationally. I’m currently developing a partnership with talented Brazilian architects and collaborating on a stunning residential project in Brazil. Additionally, I’m about to embark on designing another exciting project for a client in France. For the first time, I’ll also be working on a residential project in China, marking a new and exciting chapter in my career.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?
One of my favourite projects to date was a conceptual redesign of a hallway that allowed me to think outside the box. The client approached us with the goal of modernising the hallway and, most importantly, increasing the amount of natural light throughout the space. One major challenge was that we couldn’t make any changes to the building’s façade, which initially seemed limiting. However, the client gave me complete creative freedom, and that openness sparked an exciting idea that transformed the project’s direction.

The concept that emerged was bold and innovative: a glass bridge connecting the two blocks of the house. This unique design allowed natural light from the second-floor windows to flow freely and illuminate the entire hallway on the first floor. The transparent structure not only enhanced brightness but also introduced a stunning architectural feature that became a focal point of the home. The client was absolutely thrilled with the concept, and seeing his enthusiasm for the idea was incredibly rewarding. We are now eagerly anticipating the project’s completion, knowing it will be a beautiful and transformative addition to the space.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
Every project presents unique challenges because they are always different. When developing projects for clients in distant countries, I must rely on thorough plans that require high-quality technical drawings. This ensures that professionals in their respective countries can successfully deliver the project as designed. Additionally, projects involving period houses require more attention and can be particularly challenging.

For example, one of my first significant projects after graduating in architecture, more than 20 years ago, was a full residential project in Brazil. It was the first time I designed not only all the architectural project, but all the interiors, and the garden. The most challenging aspect was incorporating an LED lighting system and other sustainable techniques into the project. At that time, LED lighting was emerging in the market, and this was the first time in my hometown that this technology was integrated into an entire house.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing? E.g. Lighting companies, furniture companies
I believe I couldn’t live without a good team of professionals around me to help materialise my ideas and ensure a smooth process for everyone involved in delivering a completed project. From artisan bespoke manufacturers to electricians and decorators, each of these individuals plays a fundamental role in achieving success in the business. Another important aspect is sourcing quality materials from reputable companies, especially those that provide excellent customer service in case anything needs to be amended.
What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months? : In the coming year, I am dedicated to strengthening and expanding my business presence, building on the momentum of my recent rebranding. My goal is to increase brand awareness and establish a more prominent position in the market by forming meaningful connections with clients and industry professionals.

My vision is to continue delivering inspiring projects that show my love and dedication to my profession and go beyond client expectations. I am committed to creating beautiful, practical, and energy-efficient designs that embody my passion for what I do. To make this vision a reality, I will focus on deepening my expertise in sustainable and energy-efficient design, embracing continuous learning and professional growth. By investing in my skills and knowledge, I aim to shape a future where every project enhances lives and respects the environment.

Your most treasured possession?
My most treasured possessions aren’t material things—they are the moments spent with my family and the memories we’ve created together. Nothing compares to the joy of being surrounded by my loved ones—my parents, brothers, and most especially my husband and children. The laughter we share, the stories we tell, and the simple, everyday moments mean more to me than anything money could buy. These memories are priceless, and they fill my heart with gratitude and happiness. They remind me of what truly matters in life—love, connection, and the people who make life meaningful.

Your favourite holiday destination?
Traveling is one of my favourite activities, especially when I can share the experience with family or close friends. My top destination is Italy. I’m captivated by its rich history, delicious food, and stunning architecture. Whether I’m exploring the ancient streets of Rome, enjoying fresh pasta at a local café, or relaxing on the Amalfi Coast, Italy always has something new to offer. Every trip is an adventure, filled with unique experiences and unforgettable memories.

Another destination I love is my hometown in southern Brazil. It’s a beautiful place filled with nature and warmth, and being there with my family and special friends brings me immense joy. Each visit recharges my energy and reminds me of the love and support that surrounds me.

If you weren’t in this sector, what would you alternative profession be?
Since I was young, I have always had a deep passion for art and a natural talent for drawing. Creativity has been an essential part of my life, shaping the way I see the world and inspiring me to express my ideas visually. Before pursuing a career in the design and architecture, I seriously considered a path in Fine Arts, as I found immense joy and fulfilment in creating beautiful, thought-provoking pieces. My love for painting led me to experiment with various techniques, but I found a special connection with oil painting.

In the past, I devoted more time to painting and produced several oil paintings that still hold a special place in my heart. However, as my career in architecture took off, my artistic pursuits took a step back. Now, I find myself longing to reconnect with that creative side and carve out time to develop my art further.
