Tell us a little about your background in the sector (education, experience, etc) :
Over the last decade, I have been fortunate to work in various industries. My background is in industrial design, but I have spent most of my career focused on creating interiors. The aviation sector is inherently interesting, as each project offers countless opportunities to design unique objects that work together to create a cohesive environment. Each project is a complicated puzzle with tight tolerances and ever-changing parameters. These spaces are often 100% custom, so I have had the privilege of designing everything from lights and seats to the branded robes and slippers worn on board.

How would you describe your design ethos? :
Client-Centered Design.
I am a customer advocate, and my approach revolves around understanding and prioritizing clients’ needs, preferences, and lifestyles. With this approach I believe that the success of a design project hinges on deep engagement and collaboration with the customer throughout the process.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
I see inspiration as a well I can draw from, and I strive to keep it full by constantly exploring, experiencing, and learning. For me, inspiration often emerges where experimentation, research, and travel intersect, each adding something special to my creative process.

Through experimentation, I uncover new ideas and innovations. Travel, on the other hand, exposes me to different perspectives and approaches to problem-solving. By immersing myself in new environments, I absorb influences that enrich my own creativity. The memories and experiences I gain from these journeys become vivid, lasting sources of inspiration that I carry into my work.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Each of our clients has unique tastes and needs. Therefore, the most relevant trends focus less on aesthetics and more on leveraging new and advancing technologies. With the rise of 3D printing, 5-axis routers, and other innovative materials, many details that were once cost and time-prohibitive are now entirely achievable.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?
Everything matters. To design effectively, you must fully understand all parameters and know how the components fit together.

How important are The International Yacht & Aviation Awards?
The International Yacht & Aviation Awards hold immense significance for me. They’re more than just an event—they’re a platform where designers from around the globe come together to exchange ideas and challenge boundaries. It’s easy to fall into a comfort zone, but these awards inspire me to step beyond that, explore fresh concepts, and adopt new methodologies that fuel innovation in my future projects.
