Tell us a little about your background in design:

graduated from one of the top architectural programs in the nation; the University of Miami School of Architecture. Having such a strong architectural background has allowed him to have a unique perspective when it comes to designing interiors. There is an art to understanding the architecture of a home and being able to convey these elements into the character and design of the interiors. A home must consist of an interior and exterior that are integrated and create a cohesive design that tells a story which is not only timeless, but elegant and functional.

With over 15 years of experience in the Architectural Design industry, Thomas has become an accomplished designer in the high-end residential community. By working for some of South Florida’s top firms, he has gained a vast amount of experience in everything from landscape design, historical preservation, high-end luxury residential and hospitality design. His strengths however lie in the creative design phase where he is able to use his exceptional vision and design talents to meticulously design cutting edge one of a kind projects that truly set themselves apart.

As Principal Partner at Dunagan Diverio Design Group, he successfully spearheads all the major design concepts for each and every project. Collaboration with our clients is of upmost importance and value to all aspects of the project. Under his supervision, a team of designers will help to bring all aspects of the project together to create homes that exhibit timeless design, with an extreme attention to detail.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?
Be creative, unique, and mindful of the environment in which you are designing within.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?
Very important. These award allow designers from all over the world to be recognised for their talent and work as well as to promote great design.

What projects are you currently working on?
Several large ultra high end luxury homes throughout the state of Florida.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?
We did a beautiful winery and estate in Napa California, USA that was a blend of Italian Tuscan architecture with a more modern industrial feel. It was an amazing project in a beautiful location overlooking all of Napa Valley. The client also had an extensive art collection which was amazing to work with inside and outside.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?
I think a great lighting designer is essential to the design of the interiors of the home. I also believe the landscaping of the home will make or break the project. Great landscaping can vastly change the look of a home.
