Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)

I’ve always been drawn to the arts. Starting in film school at Queen’s University, I realized my passion lay in the visual world, especially interior design and fashion. This led me to Parsons School of Design in New York, where I could immerse myself in art, culture, and architectural history. Being dyslexic has shaped how I see the world—thinking three-dimensionally, pushing boundaries, and challenging norms. I approach design with empathy, detail, and dedication, navigating complex projects while creating spaces that feel personal and timeless.

How would you describe your personal design style?

Timeless, personalized, internationally influenced, and always unique to each client.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Architecture, fashion, old-world craftsmanship, travel, nature, and historical references.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?

Cedar Crescent, because of the trust and creative freedom the clients gave me, allowing us to curate a home with exceptional craftsmanship and artistry.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?

One of the most challenging projects we’ve worked on is Cedar Crescent, a heritage property that demanded an exceptional level of detail and customization. Every element of the construction and design was meticulously tailored, from the intricate metal inlays in the flooring to the parchment details in the millwork. The design features hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper sourced from France, along with globally inspired light fixtures and furnishings that were curated during procurement trips with the client to Thailand, New York, Paris, and London. This project stands out as a true showcase of globally inspired design and an unparalleled commitment to craftsmanship, reflecting the complexity and ambition of creating a cohesive yet intricate masterpiece.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?

Lighting, furniture, and textiles—each plays a vital role in creating a cohesive and inspiring space.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

The digital age brings rapid change, but I hope for a renewed appreciation for craftsmanship, history, and sustainability.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2024 and beyond.

Sustainability, historical meaning, timelessness, nature, and preservation.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Don’t follow trends and invest in pieces as if they are art.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?

The International Design & Architecture Awards are an incredible opportunity to showcase creativity on a global stage. Having lived, studied, and traveled extensively abroad, I draw immense energy and inspiration from cultural immersion, history, and storytelling. With extended family in London and deep international ties, I cherish connecting with talented designers from around the world. The awards allow us to celebrate diverse design perspectives, exchange ideas, and share experiences that elevate our industry. Being shortlisted is both an honour and a source of motivation.

What projects are you currently working on?

We are currently working on several exciting projects that showcase the breadth and depth of our expertise in luxury residential design. One highlight is Cedar Crescent, a heritage home in Vancouver’s prestigious Shaughnessy area. This project involves revitalizing and modernizing the property into an extraordinary showpiece. It stands as one of the most complex and comprehensive undertakings we’ve managed to date. With an intricately detailed construction and interior design process, every element has been thoughtfully curated. The project reflects a multimillion-dollar investment, emphasizing its scale and ambition. Additionally, we are finalizing the accessories package for a recently completed project north of Whistler, BC. This generational family home holds special significance for me, as it allowed collaboration with an architect and builder I’ve long admired. The design process was enriched by incorporating pieces from renowned designers and artists, including Christian Liaigre, Bruno Moinard, and Perrine Rousseau. This project exemplifies our ability to celebrate aesthetic diversity and curate deeply personal spaces. We also have several bespoke private residential projects underway, each unique and carefully tailored to our clients’ vision and lifestyle

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

To be published in Architectural Digest, launch our company rebrand, grow as a leader, achieve better work-life balance, increase profitability, and collaborate with clients who value the art of design.

Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself and your daily inspirations:

Your most treasured possession?

A ring from my grandmother, crafted by renowned jeweller Toni Cavelti.

Your favourite holiday destination?

Savary Island in British Columbia, where I can unplug, relax by the ocean, and enjoy nature with my family and friends. It’s a place of peace and reconnection, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. There is also Europe, where every visit sparks new inspiration. Its rich history, art, and diverse cultures fuel my creativity and passion for design. I find endless possibilities in exploring its iconic cities and hidden gems.

Your favourite hotel, restaurant & bar?

For my favourite restaurant, I would choose Gigi in Paris—where breathtaking views and stunning interior design come together to create an unforgettable experience. For a bar, it’s the iconic Churchill Arms in London, perfect for enjoying a pint in a setting full of charm and character. As for hotels, it’s impossible to pick just one. I adore any hotel that allows me to explore, discover, and be inspired, each place offers its own unique allure and experience.

Your favourite book, film & song?

For my favourite book, it has to be Pride & Prejudice—a timeless classic filled with wit, romance, and unforgettable characters. When it comes to movies, I love watching the Harry Potter series with my kids; it’s a magical experience we all enjoy together. As for a song, I’d choose “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey, it’s a track that always resonates with me and lifts my spirits.

Your favourite food and drink?

My favourite food has to be a perfectly cooked hamburger—it’s comforting and simply good for the soul. As for my drink of choice, it’s always Champagne. Together, they create the ultimate high/low pairing, blending timeless elegance with classic simplicity.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?

My perfect afternoon is spent on the beach next to the ocean, surrounded by my four kids. Being in nature engages all the senses— hearing the waves, feeling the sand, smelling the salty air, and watching the ever-changing shoreline. Each incoming tide reveals a different beach to explore. I also love visiting artists’ studios to learn about their craft and personal journeys. Seeing their creative process and the materials they use inspires my own design work. Another ideal afternoon would be shopping at my favourite store owned by close friends. We share a passion for style and creativity. Fashion and interiors influence each other more than most realize— both are layered, textural, and deeply personal forms of expression. Discovering unique fashion pieces allows me to express my personal style every day. Lastly, as a board member at the Vancouver Art Gallery, I find joy in attending major art openings and board meetings. Being surrounded by art and creative minds energizes me. It’s a place where ideas flourish, and community-building feels like real-life therapy—a hospital for the soul.
