Tell us a little about your background in design:
Iris graduated with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Architecture. With 27 years of experience, she has planned and designed a wide range of projects — including public buildings, residential complexes, luxury villas, renovations, and interior design for new apartments. With over 400 satisfied clients and collaborations with leading developers in Israel, her portfolio showcases diverse projects that combine both architecture and interior design at the highest level.

How would you describe your personal design style?:
Iris Avneri Dvir crafts quality of life with a clean and warm design style. She works with natural materials that age beautifully and never go out of style, and believes in total design — where every detail is thoughtfully considered and part of a harmonious whole.

Where does your design inspiration come from?:

My inspiration can come from anything — the sea, a film I’ve seen, a scent in the air. Inspiration is everywhere, in everything, all the time.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?:
A return to nature and to simple, yet smart and technologically thoughtful design.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?:
Do your homework: write down your exact needs and set a clear budget. The more precise you are about your dreams, wishes, and requirements — the more your home will truly reflect you and fit your life perfectly.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?:
International recognition holds great value for a designer’s work. It not only affirms the quality and creativity of the design but also opens doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and exposure on a global stage. It’s a powerful way to elevate a designer’s voice and impact beyond borders.

What projects are you currently working on?:
Currently working on several projects of varying scales — some focused on architecture, others on interior design. Some are in collaboration with leading developers, while others are with private clients — each project unique, yet all guided by the same values of precision, warmth, and thoughtful design.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?:
Every new project is dear to me — it’s like reaching the summit of a mountain; once you arrive, you’re already thinking about the next climb. But if I had to choose one to highlight, it would be a villa in Ramat Hasharon, built on half a dunam.
It was a complex project both architecturally and structurally, with demanding site conditions and client requirements — yet out of those very challenges, something truly special was born. A project that proves how limitations can lead to exceptional design.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

I dream of designing a resort in a tropical beachfront location — a place where architecture, nature, and atmosphere blend seamlessly. I’m also looking to expand my practice internationally and take on architecture and interior design projects abroad. Excited to bring my clean, warm design approach and years of experience to new landscapes and cultures.

Your favourite holiday destination?

An exotic beachfront destination is my favorite kind of getaway — where nature, light, and calm meet inspiration.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?

I love going to the beach, dancing, and doing Pilates.
