Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)

I took the scenic route to interior design. I started my career as a New York City based lawyer, had four kids, and then decided to pivot hard-straight into the New York School of Interior Design.

The real turning point was when we moved from Brooklyn Heights to Manhasset into a home that needed a complete makeover. So I rolled up my (new designer) sleeves and renovated the whole home. Fast-forward to now: I lead a team of six amazing women, and together we take on full-scale residential projects from Manhattan to the Hamptons-wherever greatness calls we answer!

How would you describe your personal design style?

Personally I’m all about color, pattern play, and big, bright, bold choices. My own home has blue doors, black and white tile, and so many prints and patterns—because design should be fun. But our firm is really about whatever our client wants. People are always surprised when they see the crisp and clean spaces we can create—and then visit my house and think, “Wait, you live here?” But that’s the magic of good design: it’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s versatile, expressive, and always tailored to the people it is created for. I am proud of this lack of design style.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Travel, always. I’m obsessed with color, texture, and all things pattern—so places like India, Morocco, Spain, Paris, and pretty much anywhere tropical light me up. I’m constantly inspired by global design—hand-painted tiles, vibrant textiles, intricate architecture, the way color shows up boldly and unapologetically.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?

One of my favorite projects to date has to be our “Gold Coast Redux” project. Our clients came to us ready for a vibrant, meaningful refresh as they entered a new chapter with an almost empty nest. At first, they were a bit guarded—but once they saw the vision coming together, they gave us full creative freedom and that’s when the magic happened.
Their style was whimsical yet refined, so we designed a home full of bold color, playful details, and clean, modern lines. We did a surfboard feature wall using heirloom boards shaped by the client’s father (a celebrated Australian surfboard maker!) and a coffee bar topped with a Jurassic-era fish fossil countertop. It was the perfect balance of trust, collaboration, and creativity—an incredibly rewarding project and one that truly reflects what we love to do.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?

Without a doubt, my most challenging project was after a pipe burst and quietly flooded our beach house. I had no choice but to dive headfirst into a full, down to the studs, renovation. It was overwhelming because it was a second chance to get the design right.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?

Kyle Bunting is a favorite—his customizable hair-on-hide rugs are just fun. They’re bold, beautifully made, and let us pull in personalized color in a way that feels totally unexpected. It’s an instant wow moment. Pierre Frey is a forever favorite and go-to. We’d be lost without our installer, John Fasano, owner of JSN Painting. We have worked with him forever and he makes sure every detail lands exactly how it should. He is a perfectionist and that works just perfectly for us!

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

Design is moving in a really personal direction—we’re seeing a shift away from rigid, catalog-perfect spaces and toward interiors that feel deeply lived-in and reflective of the people who inhabit them. It’s no longer just about looking expensive—it’s about feeling right and looking collected.

We’ve always believed bold choices are beautiful. Minimalism will always be classic, but we’re not afraid of color, character, or unexpected moments. The goal isn’t to live in a museum—it’s to live in a space that feels like you with the magic that we bring.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2024 and beyond.

Transparency – In every sense. From materials and sourcing to how a space feels, people crave authenticity.

Function – A gorgeous room that doesn’t work is just… a set piece. Every space has to serve its purpose.

Joy – What’s the point if it doesn’t make you happy? Design should spark joy and comfort every time you walk through the door.

Timelessness – A well-designed space should age gracefully. Think classic bones with personality layered in—never stuffy, always enduring.

Quality – Always elevated, always made to last.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Prioritize. Get serious about the groundwork—what the space needs to do, what’s non-negotiable for the client, how it actually functions day-to-day. Once that’s clear, leave a little air for the magic to happen. Great design is all about balance: anchoring the essentials, then layering in something unexpected, cutting-edge, or just plain fun to keep everyone inspired.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?

They’re incredibly meaningful because they bring the design community together. It’s a celebration of craft and pushing boundaries and I’m so honored, and truly proud of my team, to be represented here. It’s a reminder that when design is thoughtful it speaks for itself—loud and clear!

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

Over the next 12 months, we’re excited to deepen our focus on high-end Hamptons and coastal homes, taking on larger, more comprehensive interior design projects across Long Island. With the opening of our second office at 1133 Broadway, we’re also growing our presence in Manhattan — allowing us to seamlessly serve clients across both the city and the East End. From concept to completion, we offer full-service interior design that brings our clients’ visions to life and transforms their dreams into beautifully livable realities.

Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself and your daily inspirations:

Your most treasured possession?

I purchased paintings from J. Mackey Gallery in East Hampton, part of the extraordinary, once-overlooked collection of Arthur Pinajian.

Your favourite holiday destination?

There’s a quiet magic to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands—especially Little Dix Bay—that’s unlike anywhere else I’ve been. It’s unspoiled, unpretentious, and blissfully off the radar. The beaches are otherworldly: powdery white sand, crystalline waters, and a calm that settles into you the moment you arrive.

Your favourite book, film & song?

Book: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
Film: Some Kind of Wonderful
Song: “Tangled Up in Blue”

Your favourite food and drink?

There’s nothing more satisfying than a perfectly roasted chicken and an icy dirty martini with extra olives—ideally stuffed with gorgonzola. It’s a classic pairing: simple, indulgent, and full of character. And there’s no better place to enjoy it than Paris, alongside a mound of perfectly smooth mashed potatoes—silky, buttery, and impossibly rich. It’s unfussy, but in the most refined way—comfort with a touch of decadence.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?

Getting lost down a rabbit hole of interior design and travel inspiration is one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Travel is endlessly inspiring—there’s nothing like discovering a destination that feels truly your own.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?

Attorney! I worked as an attorney in the Brooklyn DA’s office in my early career and loved it. I use many of the skills I developed there in my day to day as a designer.
