What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
The Grange House has to be my choice again for the most challenging project. Due to its age, we encountered many unexpected issues that added extra work and caused delays. Walls crumbled as old wallpaper was removed, rotten floorboards were uncovered beneath layers of flooring, and during excavation for the conservatory, we even discovered an old well once used for the horses. The entire electrical system also had to be replaced.
While many challenges were anticipated, even more arose during the process. However, our close communication with the contractor and client allowed us to tackle each issue efficiently. Our problem-solving approach ensured the project’s success and built a strong relationship of trust with the client, making the experience incredibly rewarding despite the difficulties.
Which products/services could you not live without when designing? E.g. Lighting companies, furniture companies
When designing, we couldn’t live without the support of our incredible team and the services they provide. We rely heavily on bespoke furniture and cabinetry makers, soft furnishings specialists, and trusted electricians and builders who help bring our visions to life. Additionally, we work with amazing and reliable suppliers for furniture, lighting, fabrics, and more. Their expertise and quality products are crucial to creating designs that not only look great but function perfectly.

If you weren’t in this sector, what would you alternative profession be?

Anything else interesting?
I’m an ambitious and driven person who truly loves working with architecture and design. From the initial concept to project management and taking final pictures, each step gives me great satisfaction. Along the way, I’ve discovered I’m not only skilled in design but also in business management, and I take great pride in the hard work I’ve put into my career. As a single parent, I aim to balance work and life, ensuring I spend quality time with my children and serve as a positive example for them. Being shortlisted for the Design et al Awards is a huge honour, and it’s a reminder that, despite the challenges, I’m on the right path.
