PURE Design worked with local millworkers for custom cabinetry and partnered with Greek-trained artisans for traditional plasterwork. Sustainability played a key role, with low-VOC finishes, energy-efficient appliances, and Canadian-made furniture specified throughout. The result is a home that reflects the clients’ personality, encourages creativity, and offers a warm, inviting space for family life.
PURE Design Inc. reimagined a dated Vancouver Special into a vibrant, playful home for a young family in Mount Pleasant. The 1960s property, originally dark and boxy, was transformed into a light-filled, colourful haven tailored to the needs of a creative couple and their two young sons.
The design brief called for bold use of colour, including a yellow kitchen and a pink bathroom. PURE Design embraced this playful direction, infusing the home with joyful energy and Scandinavian-inspired elements such as clean lines, curved forms, and expressive palettes. The redesign focused on opening up the long, linear layout to create a more organic, family-friendly flow.
