The result is a restaurant that feels both rooted and contemporary. By turning constraints into opportunities and grounding every decision in cultural authenticity, the studio shaped a dining environment that reflects Lebanese heritage through a modern, confident lens.
Ramy Boutros Architects approached Maryool with a brief that called for a contemporary Lebanese eatery rooted in Levantine culture. The aim was to create a warm and intimate space that honoured homemade recipes while presenting them in a modern setting. The main challenge was the small square floor plan dominated by a large central column. Rather than conceal the column, the studio transformed it into an organic sculptural feature that rises from the floor and continues to the ceiling. This form shapes both the floating bar and the surrounding table, turning a structural limitation into the defining element of the interior.
