Rive Gauche London has recently completed an impressive interior design project aimed at transforming an apartment into a luxurious duplex residence with a rooftop terrace in a prime London location. Catering to overseas clients seeking both a London home and investment property, Rive Gauche London embarked on a mission to deliver a truly bespoke living space with ample outdoor areas for their large family.

A pivotal aspect of the redesign was the creation of a spacious duplex layout with a rooftop terrace boasting stunning 360-degree views of London. Overcoming planning obstacles, Rive Gauche London successfully secured permission to construct a substantial 90m2 extension, significantly expanding the apartment’s footprint to approximately 390m2.

In terms of interior design, the focus was on creating a bright and airy atmosphere, maximising natural light even on overcast days. The clients desired neutral finishes that exuded elegance and refinement, complemented by specialist and unique touches throughout the home.

Advanced technology was integrated into the property, with a full automated AV system installed to meet the family’s technological needs. A bespoke rooflight illuminates the staircase void, seamlessly connecting both floors and enhancing the sense of openness.

A standout feature of the design is the living room banquette seating area, strategically positioned to offer panoramic views of London’s landmarks. Windows were relocated on the 8th floor to frame iconic sights such as the Royal Albert Hall, adding to the apartment’s allure.

The master suite and bathroom were crafted with meticulous attention to detail, featuring luxurious finishes such as stone-clad walls and bespoke wall panelling with reflective, textured materials. Custom-designed furniture, including a dining table for ten and a curved base for added movement and comfort, further elevates the interior spaces.
