Silverfox Studios Pte Ltd led the design of the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, transforming a repurposed 22-storey industrial building into a vibrant hospitality destination. Drawing from the building’s industrial heritage, Silverfox embraced its original structure to create an architectural and interior language that aligns with the Centric brand’s mission to immerse guests in the urban heart of the city.

Located at the foothill of KL Eco Park, once the fort of Kuala Lumpur’s first ruler and later home to the chief who opened the city as a mining town, the hotel’s setting played a vital role in shaping the concept strategy. Nearby, a waterway that once served as a key artery during the city’s early tin mining days further informed the narrative.

Silverfox developed a detailed concept strategy that focused on anchoring the hotel within its historical and geographical context. Key design influences included the tin mining and smelting process, the tactile qualities of tin, the textures of brick and concrete, the surrounding rainforest and botanical elements, and the dynamic urban streetscape including graffiti and street art.
