SZ Design has masterfully transformed Cardo Rome into a sophisticated blend of timeless elegance and contemporary design, seamlessly integrating Rome’s rich historical narrative with modern luxury. The design revolves around two foundational brand pillars: Compositional Freedom and Cosmic Rhythm, guiding the aesthetic and functional elements to create a coherent and engaging environment.

Roman mythology, particularly the symbolism of the olive tree linked to the goddess Minerva, is a central theme. This is reflected in the strategic use of olive green, honoring Rome’s storied past while infusing the interiors with timeless elegance. The lobby, with its layered curved ceiling and 3D wall textures inspired by the pasta-making process, echoes the architectural grandeur of Rome, fostering a fluid transition through the space.

Each room embodies ‘Otium,’ the Roman ideal of leisure, using warm tones and luxurious fabrics to create a sanctuary for guests. The F&B spaces feature sophisticated geometric designs, offering diverse dining experiences. The spa, inspired by tranquil Roman gardens, provides a serene retreat.

SZ Design’s vision for Cardo Rome is to offer an immersive journey where guests experience ancient Rome’s opulence through a contemporary lens. Bespoke furniture, curated artwork, and intricate metalwork celebrate the city’s past while providing modern comforts. Collaborations with the renowned Roman culinary group Trilussa were essential to creating an authentic yet contemporary dining experience at Vertici restaurant.
