The International Design & Architecture Awards 2026
At the heart of the design is a deep terracotta red ceiling that envelops the bedroom in cocoon-like warmth. This striking feature sets the tone for the entire scheme, establishing an atmosphere that feels both intimate and expressive. Behind the bed, statement wallpaper panels featuring a stylised Art Deco palm motif in gold and charcoal tones introduce texture and visual rhythm. A rattan headboard, mid century inspired side tables, and a sculptural chandelier complete the look, merging vintage charm with contemporary craftsmanship. Layered bedding in soft neutrals, complemented by ochre and rust velvet cushions, enhances the space’s tonal harmony and tactile richness.
In the adjoining dressing room, The Code Design Studio Ltd continues the narrative with a more playful approach. Vibrant floral wallpaper by House of Hackney takes centre stage, infusing the room with energy and personality while echoing the bedroom’s colour story. A marble countertop, mustard ceramic vase, and carefully styled design books introduce a touch of sophistication and lived-in luxury.
Consistent materiality across both spaces, brushed brass details, warm timber tones, and plush neutral carpeting, creates a sense of unity. The result is a retreat that feels timeless yet deeply personal, where terracotta hues, bold motifs, and expressive textures come together in harmony. Through this project, The Code Design Studio Ltd demonstrates how thoughtful design can seamlessly blend eras, creating spaces that are as comforting as they are characterful.
