In crafting the Summer House’s design, The Design Code envisioned a seamless fusion of indoor and outdoor spaces, harmoniously integrating nature’s elements while prioritising sustainability. At the main entrance and foyer, they ingeniously utilised a double-height ceiling to invite natural light into a space otherwise devoid of it. The playful arrangement of random floor tiles not only minimises the need for carpets but also adds a unique charm to the welcoming ambiance. Opting for light natural wood in furniture and cladding maintains a cosy atmosphere, setting the tone for a serene summer retreat.
One of The Design Code’s ingenious touches lies in the dining area, where a versatile dining table caters to both intimate gatherings and larger parties, reflecting adaptability at its finest. Mirrors strategically placed to amplify space, coupled with culturally inspired wall art, infuse character into the dining space. A nature-inspired partition visually delineates the dining area while seamlessly connecting it with the main seating area, fostering a natural flow throughout the house.
