Sustainability underpins every decision. Existing structures were retained where possible, and protected narra wood was repurposed into feature elements. Local artisans contributed pottery, weaving and carving, ensuring authenticity while supporting community industries. The result is a refined, deeply contextual design that enhances rather than redefines, allowing the resort’s natural beauty and heritage to remain central.
WATG and Wimberly Interiors have led the transformation of Lagen Island Resort, reinforcing its position as a leading eco sanctuary through a preservation first approach rooted in cultural authenticity. Guided by the island’s dramatic limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and dense rainforest, the design teams embraced their role as “Guardians of the Lagen Islands”, ensuring that every intervention respected the site’s natural and cultural heritage.
