Nicholas Anthony
Nicholas Anthony have been shortlisted for Kitchen Design Over £100,000 in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2023.
The client, seeking to create an expansive and luxurious open plan kitchen for both entertainment and domestic purposes, entrusted the project to the esteemed kitchen designer, Nicholas Anthony.
The grandeur of the vast space called for a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary styles, exuding sophistication and offering a truly unique experience that tantalizes all the senses. Striving for the perfect balance between practicality and opulence, meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality were paramount considerations.
The client insisted on the highest standard of domestic appliances, some of which required compatibility with a dedicated gas supply. Additionally, all lighting fixtures had to seamlessly integrate with the client’s smart housing controller, showcasing the marriage of technological convenience and elegance.
To optimize the use of space, Nicholas Anthony deftly organized the kitchen into distinct zones that effortlessly transition from one to the next. These encompassed a dedicated cooking area, a separate utility space (distinct from the home’s utility room), two sprawling islands (including one in the shape of an L), a cozy lounge area, and an inviting dining room, each radiating its own sense of intimacy and conviviality.
At the heart of the domesticated section of the kitchen, a top-of-the-line range cooker served as the focal point. To complement its presence, bespoke SieMatic feature cabinets were meticulously crafted and installed on either side.
To uphold the principle of symmetry within this glamorous culinary space, a specific area was dedicated to entertaining possibilities. The island in this section was carefully designed to provide an exclusive chef’s table experience, as the client frequently hosted private chefs in the house. Understanding the client’s penchant for steaks, Nicholas Anthony incorporated a custom-made grill, skillfully created by Subzero + Wolf.
Under Nicholas Anthony’s expert guidance, the client’s vision for a grand, functional, and aesthetically captivating kitchen came to life, replete with meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design choices that catered to the client’s discerning taste and culinary preferences.
