Tell us a little about your background in design:

I have always wanted to be an interior designer. When I was young, I was collecting piles of Interior Design magazines and books, dreaming of changing my parent’s house. I was inspired by the constant travels, living for many years in all different countries around the world.

I studied in Italy, where I firstly received my Interior Design Diploma, and my Bachelor Degree from La Sapienza University, after.  My very first working experience ( as trainee ) was in an interior design boutique showroom in the Rome Historic Centre. My professional experience is quite broad, and cover many areas of construction, architecture and design industry, in Italy and abroad. I’d be so much less confident today if it weren’t for those 20+ years immersed in learning.

How would you describe your personal design style?

Subtle and tactile.  I like to mix element of natural, rich textures with features of essential elegance. Is a distinctive trait of my approach to design.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Sensorial experience of a space, geometries and forms.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

More than ever, sustainability, wellbeing, and technology are the key elements dictating the direction design, and ultimately, humanity is moving towards.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Be authentic and open-minded.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?

I think they are very important as recognition of talent and achievement for the future of our business.

What projects are you currently working on?

Residential project in London

A concept restaurant

A furniture line

What was your favourite project to work on and why?

I truly do not have a favourite project. Each of my clients have a distinctive personality and for me the process start with me, connecting to their vision – through my filters.

I love the collaborative experience. The projects in which clients are deeply involved and have a specific vision to be realized are the most engaging.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?

Fine craftsmanship and fabricators.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

For next twelve months, I have a clear vision: live my dream growing my business, collaborations and lunch of my own soft furniture range

Your most treasured possession?
A shared possession, my family. Ok, also an Italian traditional family recipe – consumed – book.

Your favourite holiday destination?
The Tuscan Archipelago (Tuscany), but the list is long.

Your favourite hotel, restaurant & bar?
During Covid: my house (I absolutely love cooking)

Your favourite book, film & song?
Becoming.
Any movie with Italian actor Alberto Sordi.
Black – Pearl Jam

Your favourite food and drink?
Lobster Linguini and anything with Pistachio. White Vintage wine.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
Trail running.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
Never thought at an alternative career, maybe a chef.
