Alex Kravetz Design
Alex Kravetz Design have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – Europe Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2023.
Alex Kravetz Design has transformed an outdated apartment into a timeless Mediterranean-inspired space. The goal was to create warm, comfortable, and classy interiors with a touch of orientalism and contemporary artwork that reflects the client’s heritage and taste. The apartment, located in a beautiful historic building with a micro-climate and Mediterranean trees on its promenade, required a complete remodelling and fit-out.
Upon arrival at the property, one is greeted by a light and airy atmosphere with classical panelling and a carefully curated contemporary artwork selection. The design team extended the architectural elements from the original lounge windows into the corridor, incorporating arched portals with architraves. The addition of a built-in mirror behind the arrival console reflects natural light, creating a sense of spaciousness. Warm and naturally finished light parquet floors were chosen to complement other materials in the space.
The lounge area features warm and comforting fabrics and finishes, including botanical silk rugs and light linen drapery adorning the arched windows. New coffered lighting has been installed, bringing a sense of zoning to the open plan layout and separating the informal TV lounge from the more formal seating area.
The custom Poliform kitchen showcases a contemporary style and is equipped with modern Miele appliances, perfect for both everyday living and entertaining. A bar island adds a touch of orientalism and provides an inviting space for hosting guests.
The Master Suite has been designed as a luxurious sanctuary, complete with a new fireplace and a spacious walk-in wardrobe featuring warm materials and finishes. Classical panelling has been added to enhance the architectural elements of the space. In the Master Bathroom, the design team incorporated two vanities for His and Hers use, a freestanding Laufen bath, and custom vertical lighting to accentuate the beauty of the bookmatched marble panels.
The result is a stunning and timeless residential interior design that reflects the client’s vision and provides a truly exceptional living experience.
