Studio di architettura PREDMET / Arch-predmet have been Shortlisted for Living Space – Global Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.

This project located in Arbat Lanes, was created for a successful businesswoman. Olesia Sitnikova’s first impression of the customer was an elegant, independent, self-confident, and fragile woman. One of the main wishes of the customer was to unite all space into one whole space. The concept of the interior is visual, emotional, tactile elements of the future space, united by a common idea.

As the customer rarely cooks at home, the team decided to expand the space and make it lighter by combining the kitchen with the living room. The project is also saturated with various textures and materials, combined within the framework of one colour scheme. This design works well thanks to the enfilade-type layout, that was designed specifically to increase the visual space, due to the smooth flow of one room into another. The key aspect of this interior is the window in the master bathroom. The bathroom block adjoins the balcony and it seemed that it would be interesting to add air and volume to the room, and this is how an oval window appeared. The unusual texture and colour of glass from Bernard Pictet brought harmony and individuality to the interior.

Since the project was created for the comfortable living of one person, the team combined the kitchen with the living room, but at the same time the space is very functional. The team had been working on a solution for how to hide the TV behind a picture so that it rotates 90 degrees when pulled out and allows you to comfortably watch TV from the kitchen.

Throughout the project the textiles and colours were inspired by Lev Bakst’s painting “The Phantom of the Rose” in shades of grey, powdery, dusty green and beige. All carpets in the project are made according to individual sketches, developed specifically for the project. The sofas in the living room are made in Pierre Frey fabrics and, in the bedroom, the textile compositions echo the Loro Piana fabrics on the bed and windows.
