Feasby & Bleeks Design have been shortlisted for Kitchen Over £50K – Global Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2023.

Feasby & Bleeks Design were asked to create a unique space that was open and yet provided ample storage and display opportunities for the client’s collections. A large eat-up island with an adjacent dining space that would be the primary dining area for day to day family dinners as well as entertaining. A design that will be both practical and durable for this family and yet sophisticated.

The Belsize kitchen design also had to strike a balance between feeling current with modern function and yet give a nod to tradition with vintage elements. Designing cabinetry that felt like furniture was also high on their, and their client’s, wish-list.  

The key aspect of the Belsize Kitchen is between the bar area, with its endless open displays of the client’s collections and it’s armoire-like custom cabinetry and the custom tufted green velvet banquette. The fact that the designers created an open kitchen and dining space that has tons of storage, personality and function.

The millwork on this project was incredibly important to the design’s success and Feasby & Bleeks Design worked with a company they could trust with it, The Wooden Tradition. This company had to integrate reclaimed elements  into the overall scheme such as the sliding door to the pantry.

The designers also relied on their upholsterer to create a very long, comfortable, gorgeous tufted velvet banquette which was a key element to achieving a dining space that worked for not only day to day use but also looked sophisticated enough for entertaining and dinner parties as it is their primary, and only, dining space. 

This design works well because it is eye-catching, unique and functional. The materials are hard-wearing and the colour palette was ahead of it’s time and yet timeless.
