Idea International have been shortlisted for Residential Project Value £1-2.5 Million Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.

IDEA International was commissioned to design and project manage the complete refurbishment of this stunning 4-bedroom penthouse located in Sofia, Bulgaria. The apartment was completely remodelled to suit the client’s every desire, with almost every item including the lighting feature in the living area being designed bespoke by the IDEA team. 

For this project studio IDEA faced the provocation to fulfil the clients’ desire to seamlessly marry a monochrome design style with timeless elegance whilst adding glamorous details and finishes. The lack of ceiling height was the clients’ other issue, to resolve this particular problem the team crafted an oval twirl like design which overlapped several times and finished it off with recessed lighting. This immaculate detailing combined with the lighting creates the sense of greater ceiling height. The concept of surfaces curving and undulating was translated in the structure of the staircase, which was also a bespoke design that IDEA created for this project. 

A combination of chocolate veneer, crystal white Corian, and lighting created perhaps the most prominent feature in the apartment. From bright and glossy wall fixtures and floor coverings to soft and subtle bespoke upholstery the interior materials in the penthouse resemble the fast-paced comfort of the 21st century elite. The exclusive design that studio IDEA International managed and executed echoes in the stylistic details, bespoke furnishings, the carefully selected artworks, the energising natural lighting and the polished sleek feel strived for in any luxurious private residence.
