Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)

I started out working in the showrooms, and then have worked under quite a few designers, as well as befriending some and because of this I was able to have real life education and experiences. I have always had a love and respect for design, whether it fit my style or not when you’re looking at a space or piece of furniture or a product…and you take into consideration all the time, effort, skill etc etc that went into creating it really gives you, well gave me, a deeper understanding and appreciation. Design truly is an Art and a Science.

How would you describe your personal design style?

Each project is different, but I lean more towards a Modern Classic and Contemporary style. I love a clean aesthetic.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Inspired by diverse cultural influence and the relationships of balance, beauty, and order. Fashion, nature, and art as well.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

That’s a good question, I think design is constantly evolving and changing and thats whats so great about the industry.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2022 and beyond.

This is very hard for me to answer, i’m not sure. I personally love a timeless look, with the right pieces you can create an ever evolving space.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Don’t be afraid to go outside of the box, add a little spice but always keep your designs aligned and in harmony.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?

They’re very important, you’re bringing together not only different designs from all over the world, many different cultures and crafts too! It’s an incredibly cool experience.

What projects are you currently working on?

I just finished a line of Art Furniture, consisting of chairs. I have a few more designs waiting to come to life, so stay tuned. 

What was your favourite project to work on and why?

Definitely this Spring line, furniture design is so interesting.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?

This limited edition line of chairs, not only is furniture design so interesting, but then to design that is comfortable but so unique and then its more than furniture, it’s art.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?

I love all the software, but no matter what I’m working on i’ll always write it out first. A layout, a design theme, even a color palette and new furniture designs. I write things down and draw before anything else so I always carry (and apparently could not live without) a pencil and notebook.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

I have designs waiting to come alive so I’ll probably work on those in between projects.

Your most treasured possession?

My glasses and contact lenses haha!

Your favourite holiday destination?

I love to travel, I don’t have a favourite.

Your favourite hotel, restaurant & bar?

The Savoy, Claridges, Waldorf Astoria, and Four Seasons (specifically their tea rooms) and, I don’t think I have a favorite restaurant, there are too many great ones to name.

Your favourite book, film & song?

• A favorite, too difficult to choose just one but I have just finished “The Obstacle Is The Way”, “The Four Agreements”, “De Kooning”, “Metahuman” and “Watercolor; a history” and I really loved every single one.
• I don’t watch too much tv and film, I’m sure with some thought, I could eventually find a favourite, or two.
• Not so much a favourite song but I do have favorite artists like; Sade, Lana Del Rey, Andrea Bocelli, Sofi Tukker, Adele, Sia…To name a few

Your favourite food and drink?

I would say Japanese cuisine I am most likely always in the mood for, and then of course, dessert! Coffee, I love a good cappuccino and/or espresso.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?

With my family

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?

Oh! hmm hard to say I love design It feels like home but if I had to choose…probably design kids clothes.
