Laure Nell Interiors have been Shortlisted for City Space (Apartment/Penthouse) – Global Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.

Located in the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale, this 4,200 square foot bachelor pad marries colours and patterns to invoke an art gallery feel. Needing to combine two vastly different styles – a coastal classic aesthetic with a bright and vibrant Indian inspired aesthetic, Laure Nell Interiors harmoniously designed Labor of Love. Upon first entering the home, Labor of Love takes your breath away with its crushed velvet seating, rich colour wallpaper and one of a kind artwork, giving you the perfect taste of what is to come.

Walking further into the residence, you are greeted with both city and ocean views. To enhance the panoramic scenery, the casual living area took on a neutral coastal design. A large rattan light fixture sets a beachy tone above a custom-designed oversized sofa. As you walk along the hallway, Labor of Love transitions into a more eclectic and glitzy design, with each room having its own designated style. Phillip Jeffries dip wallcovering spans the entire room, giving this space a bold and luxurious feel, making it the perfect backdrop for the custom made emerald green bed. To compliment the opulence of the “Gold and Green Room,” the formal living area hosts a crystal chandelier that intensifies the glamour.

The dining room is embellished with jewellery-like Yale sconces by Arteriors, elevating the space to make it a luxe entertaining area. An afterthought for most, the powder room is Laure Nell Interiors piece de resistance of Labor of Love. Inspired by an ornate artwork found on a hike of Machi Piccu of a woman/wolf hybrid, the powder room wows with its moody and dark colourway. Personal touches like this, and other family heirlooms found throughout the residence, truly make this project a true labor of love.

With races and cultures clashing all around us, Labor of Love brings hope that cultures can come together and breed harmony. Seeing two wildly different designs work in tandem the way Labor of Love did, proves that what we are all yearning for is possible.
