This custom home, inspired by a sundial and reflecting the clients’ extensive world travels, is a true luxury residence. The design team successfully balanced architectural expression, materials, and functionality to create a cohesive and beautiful home that reflected the clients’ individual tastes and preferences. Despite the limitations imposed by Agricultural Land Regulations, the design team was able to create a personalized and functional design that adhered to the regulations while still reflecting the clients’ lifestyle and needs.

The focus on relational design, with each room inspired by a functional art piece, such as lighting installations, custom mosaic tiles, and bespoke slabs of stone, reflects the clients’ appreciation for the arts. This attention to detail and commitment to creating a personalised space sets this property apart as a true luxury residence. The large room dividing peninsula fireplace integrated into the sundial shard design is a striking centrepiece of the home and a testament to the designers’ ability to create functional art pieces.

The use of transitory spaces and high sloped ceilings to invite in copious amounts of light creates a sense of spaciousness and luxury in the home. The extensive concrete workmanship required for the texturing and stamping of the long driveway, with the clients’ insignia in the driveway, and the sculpted concrete diving rock at the pool, adds to the sense of luxury and artistry in the home. The Bocci light functional art installation in the great room, which required skill and artisanship to play with the sloping ceiling, is another example of the attention to detail and commitment to creating a unique and luxurious space.

The home’s energy-efficient design and preparation for future solar power installations demonstrate the designers’ commitment to sustainability and the use of cutting-edge technology. The generous outdoor living spaces, which encourage the inhabitants and guests to connect with nature through the built environment, are yet another example of the designers’ commitment to creating a truly luxurious and personalised space.
