Avid Interior Design Inc., the designers behind the remarkable transformation of this 6500 square foot estate home on McKenzie Lake in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, showcased their talent in merging old world charm with the elegance of modern design. 

The design team took the outdated and over-embellished space and turned it into a true masterpiece of simplified and classic sophistication. The renovation encompassed the entire main level and upper level, requiring skilful reconfiguration of the floor plan to accommodate their considered design. Avid Interior Design left no corner untouched, lavishing the home with hand-selected finishes and carefully curated design details that evoke a warm and timeless ambiance, exuding a sense of home that is inviting and liveable.

The heart of this captivating renovation lies in the favourite areas: the enchanting kitchen, the elegant stairwell, the breath-taking great room fireplace feature, and a hidden room that adds an element of intrigue and charm to the space. Through their expertise, Avid Interior Design managed to strike the perfect balance between luxury and comfort, ensuring that every design element serves a functional purpose, harmoniously aligning with the client’s lifestyle.

Amidst the challenges posed by the project, Avid Interior Design demonstrated their prowess and determination. Custom cabinet details, with intricate and specific elements, were skilfully integrated throughout the estate, emphasising the designer’s commitment to tailoring the space to perfection.

The soaring ceilings in the great room and stairwell presented their own set of difficulties in constructing the striking fireplace feature and restoring the ceiling’s distinctive features. The presence of numerous curved elements added complexity to the project, demanding the finest craftsmanship from the skilled tradespeople who persevered to bring the designer’s vision into reality.
