Nicola O’Mara Interior Design Ltd have been shortlisted for Beach House Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards.

Nicola O’Mara Interior Design were required to renovate the whole interior of this dated beach house to create a high-end luxurious and comfortable home. The two key aspects of The Beach House according to Nicola O’Mara Interior Design were the remarkable and relaxing views from the house out towards the sea and the main kitchen area which included a fun filled bar area. 

The brief was to create a fresh, warm, and welcoming family beach house home, which provided a nod to the ocean whilst maintaining a comfortable and practical feel without being too twee. Nicola O’Mara ensured that the design integrated into its wider environment through the use of an array of textures and materials throughout the project, the designer focused on tactile walls, warm woods and faded and sun-washed furniture to create that beachy vibe.

The designers used local talented artists where possible to create bespoke pieces of work throughout the home. Nicola O’Mara commissioned a local artisan to create a large art mural next to the swimming pool which echoed hints of the sea. The pool area was also retiled to create a natural warm blue hue, further conjuring a comfortable interior to relax and unwind in, where the owners can truly appreciate the outdoors.
