Saya Studio have been shortlisted for City Space (Apartment/ Penthouse) – Global Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2023.

Saya Studio successfully blended contemporary modern and coastal elements to create a functional and visually stunning living space. The brief focused on seamlessly integrating entertainment areas and reflecting the client’s style preferences. Meticulous attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the incorporation of skilled artisans resulted in a cohesive design that fulfilled the client’s vision and provided an extraordinary home for years to come.

One of the standout features of the penthouse is the integrated entertainment area. The design seamlessly combines functionality and style, with a focus on creating inviting and interactive spaces. The TV unit, custom-made with textured wallpaper, serves as a stunning centrepiece that seamlessly transitions from an informal TV room to a formal area. Custom-made sofas and versatile daybed provide optimal comfort, ensuring an inviting atmosphere for entertaining guests.

Glass partitions in the family dining area maintain an open and connected feel while separating the space. The show kitchen, featuring statement tile cladding reminiscent of Calcutta Marble, adds a touch of luxury and elegance. The bar section, complete with repurposed tree root coffee table and outdoor armchairs, creates a private and intimate atmosphere for entertaining. While the study is a personalised haven, reflecting the client’s personality. With a custom sliding door, ample storage, and a versatile multipurpose layout, it seamlessly combines functionality, style, and privacy.

The use of natural materials such as wood, tweed, linen, and marble infuse the space with organic elegance, while the colour palette draws inspiration from the breath-taking coastal views. Ceramics and rattan accents further enhance the coastal aesthetic, adding texture and authenticity to the design.

Ample storage solutions were incorporated throughout the penthouse design, maximising functionality and organisation. From built-in bookcases with open and closed storage to pull-out drawers and hidden storage in bathrooms and corridors, every space was carefully considered for optimal storage.

The collaboration with skilled artisans and specialists played a crucial role in the success of the design project. Meticulous carpenters crafted custom-made furniture, while expert tilers ensured precision in intricate tiling and flooring designs. Seamstresses and textile artisans added a personal touch with handmade cushions and curtains. Rug makers from India infused the space with cultural heritage, and local artists contributed bespoke art pieces, supporting the artistic community. African and Asian artisans crafted unique macramé wall art and stunning chandeliers, completing the exquisite aesthetic.
