Tell us a little about your background in design:

I studied Interior Architecture & Design at UCA (University for the Creative Arts), which equipped me with a solid foundation in the principles of design. Over the course of my career, I have honed my expertise in the realms of high-end residential and luxurious hospitality design. This experience has allowed me to craft aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces, catering to the discerning tastes of clients seeking excellence. What truly sets my design journey apart is the invaluable international exposure I’ve gained, working on diverse projects across different countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. This global perspective has helped me expand my design repertoire by enriching my ability to seamlessly blend different influences into my work.

How would you describe your personal design style?

I love working on revitalizing heritage buildings, where a fusion of past and present can be introduced. I particularly enjoy the art of infusing contemporary allure into their storied interiors. Whether it’s the meticulous selection of finishes that pay homage to the building’s history, or the curation of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) that seamlessly blend old-world charm with the comforts of today, I gain great satisfaction in preserving the legacy of these architectural treasures while breathing new life and vibrancy into their spaces.”

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Traveling provides a constant wellspring of creativity that I channel into my work. Exploring new destinations and immersing myself in diverse cultures. From bustling cities to remote landscapes, each setting is a source of inspiration. I find that even the smallest details, such as the intricate veins of a leaf or the ripples on the surface of water, can spark a creative reaction.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

In this age of rapid technological advancement, I believe that design is increasingly centered on the fundamental principles of comfort and the creation of multi-sensory experiences. Our responsibility as designers is to adapt and ensure that the spaces and designs, we create prioritize the well-being and comfort of individuals.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Creating layers of design is often underrated. Try to avoid the temptation of throwing everything you possibility can in one room. It’s best to build design through the use of colour, texture, pattern, fabric and finishes.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?

These awards serve as a great platform to showcase the culmination of hard work, innovative design solutions, and meticulous attention to detail that goes into every project we work on.

What projects are you currently working on?

A unique townhouse in Marylebone – A family home with the addition of entertainment areas and spa facilities. Two more properties in Belgravia that are being developed as family residences with the addition of family offices and their own private members’ club

What was your favourite project to work on and why?

It’s hard to pick just one! All my projects feel very unique.

What truly intrigues me within these projects is the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of design, particularly in the realm of pattern work development. Whether it’s interplay of liquid metals or the artistry within timber, I enjoy exploring these materials and breathing life into spaces through patterns.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?

Projects during Covid were tricky. I had two main projects where I was presenting via video calls rather than in person, this meant that the usual level of personal service given to clients was hard to achieve.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing?

I love showrooms within London and taking clients there.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

Over the next 12 months I have a number of projects completing, my aim is for these to be completed as seamlessly as possible, with a happy client at the end of each one!

Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself and your daily inspirations:

Your most treasured possession?

My wedding rings.

Your favourite holiday destination?

I recently visited Marrakesh in Morocco – I instantly fell in love with the culture and its vibrancy

Your favourite hotel, restaurant & bar?
I loved visiting the Corinthia, London. We had a few pre-show drinks, which were beautifully made and tasted amazing. Nobu is also one of my favourite places to dine, as a treat.

Your favourite food and drink?

Pasta, I recently visited Lake Como on a supplier trip which was magical – The setting and food (and champagne!) were perfection.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?

I love being by water, it is my happy place where I feel very relaxed.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
A florist – I would love making beautiful arrangements for clients, although perhaps not the early mornings!
