Almaza Bay Residence by TDF+ is a summer house on a plot of land that resides on an elevated second platform by the beach at Almaza Bay, Egypt. It is a space that breathes. This is the essence of the architecture and flows into the interiors. A spiritual open conversation between the structure, the beach line and its skyline.

The core and its shell were geared to meet the transparency of the crystal waters of the bay; the ceiling to meet the sky and the ground to meet the sand. An open plan offers a continuous line of sight from any interior position to each of it’s surrounding exterior points and vice versa. Seamlessly, the user flows from one space to another with ease; TDF+ uses the partial doors, the open court, the open bathrooms, the exposed kitchen to invite one in a boundary-less experience. These dissolved boundaries expose the kitchen, calling for continuous action that invites homeowners or guests to self-serve with no question asked regarding what is where.  The modularity of the space allows for multi-function usages that can accommodate small gatherings in a cosy setup and large gatherings in an entertaining manner; the living room that turns into a cocooned bedroom with its own on suite bathroom, the back-to-back seating areas that opens to adjacent seating areas both in indoor and outdoor setups, the court working desk that turns into a cocooned outdoor dining.

Following through with the open connection is the open conversation between TDF+’s choice of grounded materials that are thoroughly handcrafted in their nature of application allowing for human imperfections that give a real meaning to the space. Neo-cement covers the walls, floors, ceilings, sinks and showers in a soft curvy manner and extend to the naturally flowing sandy pool with its two mechanical systems that accommodate the multi-dimensional slanting in its borders and walls. The natural imperfections call for one walking barefoot in the flowing space. The smooth colour palette hugs the carefully personalized curated pieces in each space. The built-in furniture holistically opens the floor to each and every piece.
