Vesta
Vesta have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – London Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards.
The client asked Vesta to create a show home for their prestigious waterfront development at 8 Casson Square, part of the Southbank Place regeneration project on the River Thames. The show home would be the epitome of international luxury and elegance and would appeal to discerning individuals around the world who wanted to live in the heart of London.
The show home needed to be inspirational and memorable, whilst reflecting the luxury, heritage, and cultural elements of London’s Southbank. The design would be elegant and classic, whilst also capturing the imagination of the international buyers drawn to the vibrant area. The apartment was to be designed for a professional couple who love the arts and culture. They work in the city but are looking for a comforting sanctuary they can retire home to, where they can also enjoy the local area and its vibrant and artistic lifestyle.
To reflect the surrounding area, it was important the rich history of the area and architecture were to be reflected in Vesta’s designs. In 1951 London’s Southbank hosted the Festival of Britain, a celebration of peace and modernity in post war Britain. The renowned British Architect Hugh Casson, was the Director of the event, giving Casson Square its name. To celebrate and honour this Vesta wanted to introduce key subtle themes of geometric forms, artisan textures and design influences from the 1950s. Vesta used a tonal jewel colour palette combined with soft neutrals to create an elegant and sophisticated narrative throughout the apartment, whilst still making it homely and inviting.
To create an inspirational showhome with elegance and sophistication Vesta included elements of luxury throughout the design scheme, from the beautiful Emperador marble dining table with its opulent and unique dark varied pattern, to the full height bespoke headboard to create the sense of a larger and grander room, evoking that indulgent hotel feel. By layering a varied palette of materials and textures throughout the apartment, Vesta achieved depth and intrigue in an otherwise simple new build space.
