Blended Wellness & Spa is a new and refreshing approach to wellness, changing the perception of what a spa should look like. A space that lacked excitement and intrigue is now cohesive and elevated. The concept narrative was for Bishop Design to create an unparalleled experience, playing on a sense of dualities in the interior styling and visual identity. The minimalist interiors contrast refined beauty against the rawness of the structure to embody the philosophy of the brand.

Bishop Design’s client approached them with a defined vision and having built a long-standing relationship, there was a clear understanding of what direction the design should go in. The process of one’s journey in Blended unravels in front of them, always inspiring and complementing one another’s dynamics in a perfect balance. This metaphor creates a discourse between the realisation of unfinished and finished. Not only represented through the interior styling but also in the subliminal representation of ourselves and the treatments that are on offer within. Perfection, perfected.

For the designers, one of the best parts of the project was the client and the team; they had all tuned to the same wavelength and together, pushed the limits of what the space gave and extracted the best possible outcome. Another key aspect of the project was the materials that they worked with. The space is minimal, pure, and elegant, but with the tension of roughness. The design process involved a lot of layering, both mentally and creatively as well as physically in the interior elements and finishes.

When taking on the project, the journey was very fragmented and needed cohesion. With Blended, Bishop Design managed to connect all the scattered elements and breathe life into this area of the building. The unity of the seemingly opposite elements in the project provides the design with such coherence. A nightlife-focused client venturing into the spa segment, with a brand that stands for alluding excitement and emotion within a space, perfectly translated into the Blended Spa experience. The complex nature and layout form a journey through the different zones and their disciplines. There is both a contrast and harmony between the raw and refined materials used, which in turn manifests the narrative of the project.
