Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc):
Interest in culture and design and an understanding of local tradition. Studied architecture with over 30 years of experience. Interior design and design has always been a significant aspect.

How would you describe your personal design style?
There is no description for a design style for such a project. Important for us in this project was the respect for the building and the substance. We have continued to build and respect the important values.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
Personal feelings, travel, culture and art.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
The theme is that people see the same language everywhere they travel. A restaurant or hotel in Asia today looks like one anywhere else in the world, and is furnished with the similar colours materials or furniture. But what people don’t see is the tradition in the places and the architects and designers are no longer able to translate these qualities into new projects.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2023 and beyond.
Respect, atmosphere, material, shadow and light

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Do not follow the tendencies but look for the right way.

How important are The International Hotel & Property Awards? You can see well who really deals with the subject. It is important to show new languages in form and colour.

What projects are you currently working on?
We are working on almost 200 projects at the same time.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?
Rooms in which I live or work myself. In these projects I can experiment.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
My own house. Planning your own project is the most difficult.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing? 3D

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
More time for my 5 children.

Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself and your daily inspirations:

Your most treasured possession?

Your favourite book, film & song?
