Michael Azoulay Design Studio have been shortlisted for Hotel Under 50 Rooms – Global Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2021.

Now is a luxury hotel in Eilat, a major tourist destination, on the shores of the Red Sea at the most southern point in Israel. It is an exciting and enjoyable island, filled with fun and happiness – one where guests find themselves not wanting to leave.

The designers wanted to translate living in the ‘now’ with this hotel; an experience that we taste from the local heritage, culture and values of the modern day. It is in the now that we can create memories, and the exclusive vacation experience of Hotel Now provides the moments to do this, with a truly enjoyable and fun escapade. Shifting the focus on the now allows us to appreciate the journey that we take.

The 20 room boutique hotel has been designed by Michael Azoulay Design Studio with one goal in mind – to ensure each guest has the perfect holiday experience. The design works so well because of the atmosphere and the community that has developed around it, the community of Now. Over the years the designers have gained experience in the field of hospitality, but this project has its own uniqueness. It is designed to be beautiful and cosy, welcoming the guests with good vibes that continue all day long, and Michael Azoulay Design Studio take great pride in it.

All the materials that were used in the project are natural. Michael Azoulay Design Studio also tried hard to use recycled wood, fabrics and paper products wherever possible. In order for the interior design to match the uniqueness of the hotel, the designers had to employ artisan skills and bespoke pieces throughout. A large part of the items in this specific project were made in very delicate crafts, which included the sheds, rugs, bedspreads and some of the carpentry work.

The brief for Michael Azoulay Design Studio was to create a space where the journey becomes the new destination with a new appreciation for the current moment. For them, our journey starts now.
